K-12 National Championships December 10-13, Dallas, TX
A number of Louisiana and Chess Gym students plan to compete at the upcoming K-12 National Championships in Dallas this December 10-13. Some parents have asked whether The Chess Gym can offer on-site coaching at this event. I will be able (and thrilled) to travel to Dallas to work with Chess Gym members throughout the event, provided that a minimum of 5 students commit and pre-pay for for a basic package.
Basic package - USCF Level V Certified Coaching to include:
1 hour pre-event Chess Gym group session Friday morning to review tournament rules; etiquette in the tournament hall;
and how & when to ask for aDirector's help, as well as to explain to students and parents post-game
procedures for Chess Gym game review and mini-lessons;
Post-game review of each of your games in the Skittles area;
Opportunity to observe and learn from post-game review of other Chess Gym members' games;
Mini-lessons between rounds to review specific openings or tactics;
Help for your parents if they enter the Parents & Friends competition;
Price: $125 per student ($75 for second student in the same family).
Private sessions also available:
As time permits, I will schedule private lessons in the evenings at the reduced rate of $20 per 50-minute
session for those who have enrolled with a basic package.
1. I cannot even cover travel costs with fewer than 5 pre-paid students, so this offer is contingent on receiving at least 5
pre-paid enrollments by November 10th; if the minimum is not met, all fees will be refunded;
2. In order to assure adequate time for all students who enroll, I can accept basic package enrollment from a maximum of 12
__ students, and will be unable to work with students not enrolled unless all those enrolled for this event have already been fully accommodated and thoroughly coached.
3. The fee for private sessions for those not enrollling for a basic package will be $35 per 50 minute session.
Hoping to see you in Dallas,
